Who’s The Boss?

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

(Numbers 17:1-13) Why is it that there is a natural tendency in us to resist, or question, the authority in our lives? The reality of it is that any authority in our lives is to be shown respect and followed, so long as that authority doesn’t cause us to go against God. Authority and Roles Set Apart

Monday, July 24th, 2006

(Numbers 16:1-15) Often times we find ourselves seeking positions of authority over others. Perhaps we feel we are better suited for a position of leadership then those that are already in the position. This can happen in all areas of our lives, but the worst of these is when it occurs in our churches. Our churches are described in other passages as being like a body, with each of us have a special place and function. We are not to be seeking to find the position that we want, we are to seek after God’s divine leading for the roles we are in. Whether we are to be the coach of the little league team, or simple take care of bringing the water, God has a position for us that is according to His purpose. He wants to use us where we can best best be used by Him, and He knows what’s best, even more than we do.
