All That We Need

(Exodus 16:1-36) It’s amazing how it never seems to fail how little faith we seem to have. Just reading more of the attitudes, and little faith, the Isrealites had after coming out of Egypt shows how we still haven’t changed much from then. The reality of it is that the sin nature we are born with was never going to slow get bred out of us. We have the same sin nature in us today that the Isrealites had then. At times it might seem like we should have it easier then them as we have the Gospel. However they had many prophets that pointed them forward to the Gospel, and Christ’s coming. Even the disciples that walked with Jesus had a hard time with their faith. Towards the end of their physical time with Jesus they turned-tail and ran in the face of danger. Where was there faith then?

Trusting The Lord

(Exodus 14:5-31) Most of us know of the story when God parted the Red Sea for the Isrealites to cross, then swallowed up the Egyptians. The scene started with a doubting people, the Isrealites, fearing for their live thinking somehow that God wouldn’t take care of them in the face of the attack by Pharoh’s army. Once God led them across the parted sea, and into safety, they turned back to trust in the Lord out the kind of fear we are called to have of Him.

His Plan, His Timing

(Exodus 13:17-14:4) Once again it is seen in this passage of scripture how God has an ultimate plan for everything, and a perfect timing. The Isrealites may not have understood God’s reason for taking them the long way to the promise land, however God did have good reason to do this. God knew of the greater problems that they would face if they had to go up against the Philistines, something that could cause the Isrealites to second guess leaving Egypt.
