Dry Ground 2

(Joshua 3:1-17) I was never aware that when the Isrealites finally were allowed to go into the promised land that they experienced a second parting of the waters, this time on the Jordan River. God’s intention for the second parting of waters was to show the Isrealites that God was with Joshua. I guess having to wonder in the wilderness for 40 years might have had the Isrealites doubting God’s promise.

Promises Kept

(Joshua 1:1-18) There are at least two promises at work in this passage. One comes from God and the other comes from some of the Isrealites. One promise was being fullfilled and that was the promise by a group of the Isrealites to go on with the others to fight.

Long Time Faith

(Luke 2:25-40) This morning as I read, the thing that stuck out to me most was the very fact that we see two very old prophets that continued to have faith in God’s promise of a messiah fo so many years. I think about myself and how God promises so much yet my faith can grow short because of the wait that comes with that promise. It seem that this culture we live in today seems to demand everything quick and according to the timing we want it in. I do not desire to be thinking about what I want, and the timing of it, but what God wants for me according to His perfect timing. I need to go to Him each day with thanksgiving for the day that He’s given me, and leave the revealing of His promises and work in my life in His hands. This is my prayer for today.

Sometimes We Never Learn…Sometimes We Stand Our Ground

(Numbers 16:16-50) In Numbers 16 Moses and Aaron stood their ground, even though the people of Isreal came after them twice continuing to doubt God. The Isrealites had a second chance to escape the wrath of God because of their doubt, however they turned right back to doubting it all. Why is it that we can find ourselves in a similar state?
