The State of The World is Due to The State of Our Church?

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

(1 Timothy 2:3-8)…In 1 Timothy men are being called to prayer. If you read much of callings given to the church in Scripture there is a lot that is directed towards the men of the church. There have also been many studies done to show that men have become the minority in churches, especially in leadership. Are the Christian men of today failing in what they’re called to be and do by God? Is it because of this great lack of men stepping up to God’s calling that our world is in such a wreck. Are we as men failing our families? Our first step in correcting our state as men should be in prayer, for forgiveness for not doing what we are called to do, and for guidance as we begin to correct our mistakes.

Starting Out With Prayer…

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

(1 Timothy 2:1-2)…How to we begin anything in our lives, the day, the meal, a trip? God wants us to always start with Him, so that we are relying on Him, and seeking His will first, in all things. I know that I don’t always start things with prayer. I’ve always been a little intimidated by prayer. It’s not that I never pray, but I tend to shy away from it. That’s a terrible way to live. God doesn’t care about some elegant prayer, He wants our true heart to come through in our prayers. The more time I spend in prayer the more natural it will be to pray. I do know that it is easier to write to God than to speak to Him. That has a lot to do with me in general. I need to begin my days writing to Him.

Too Busy To Pray?

Monday, June 4th, 2007

(Matthew 26:36-41, Mark 1:35-39)…As Christians, Christ is our example. What kind of prayer life did he have? If Jesus Christ needed to pray, how much more do we? What more can be said? When we look at the life of Christ we see him go to God in prayer so often. If we desire to be followers of Christ, how can we continue on without making prayer a high priority in our lives? This is an area in our lives that Satan know exactly how to attack, make us busy. Live can not be too busy for time with God, otherwise there is no life worth living.

Wrapping Up Prayer…

Friday, June 1st, 2007

(1 Samuel 1:19-23)…Time and again, as was the case with Hannah, we see God answer prayers. Many times we see Him answer prayers they people want them to be answered, but then there are times too where God has a different answer in mind altogether. We may have many circumstances and trials that come our way in life. If we only have faith in God then we know that He can bring us through anything. His answer to our prayers is all we need. If it’s not the answer we were looking for than you can be assured God has another plan or reason behind. If we are truly seeking after God’s will for our lives than either our prayers will be aligned to His will or our prayers will change.
